Svitolina Announces Bad News Just Days Before Strasbourg Tournament

Eliminated in the quarterfinals of Rome against Stearns (6-2, 4-6, 7-6), Svitolina was registered for the WTA 500 in Strasbourg the following week. The Ukrainian had won the trophy in 2023 against Blinkova.
Unfortunately, just days before the event, the 30-year-old player had to withdraw from the French tournament due to an injury sustained in Italy. She shared a message on her social media:
"Hello everyone, just a quick update to let you know that I unfortunately had to withdraw from Strasbourg due to a minor injury I picked up in Rome. You all know this tournament holds a special place in my heart—it’s where I won my first WTA 500 title as a mom and where I loved playing in front of amazing crowds.
I wish Denis and his team another fantastic event, and I hope to be back in 2026. Now, I’ll focus on Roland-Garros. Thank you all for your understanding."
