"They're Mocking Their Citizens": Holger Rune's Mother, Stranded in Doha with Her Son, Slams Denmark's Inaction
While several players are stuck in Dubai, Holger Rune is stranded in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The Dane had been undergoing rehabilitation there, taking advantage of the facilities from the tournament held in February.
However, following the launch of Iranian missiles into the country, Rune and his team found themselves trapped in their hotel, with no immediate solution to leave the territory.
"They're Mocking Their Citizens"
After describing a night of anxiety yesterday, Aneke Rune, mother of the 22-year-old player, spoke out again to address the waiting and lack of assistance from the Danish government towards its citizens:
"We want to leave, but we haven't heard anything from Denmark. It's disappointing. Either we are completely incapable of acting, or they are simply mocking their citizens. But what the hell are we supposed to do?" she told the Danish media B.T.
