Frances Tiafoe was targeting a fourth career title in Acapulco against Flavio Cobolli. Unfortunately for him, he fell in straight sets to the Italian. This defeat marks his eighth final loss, bringing his success rate to just 27%.

According to the X account Jeu, Set et Maths, Tiafoe has the sixth-worst finals win ratio, behind Julien Benneteau (zero wins in 10 attempts), Jarkko Nieminen, Olivier Rochus, Byron Black and Xavier Malisse.
He fares slightly better than Diego Schwartzman, Marcos Baghdatis and Cédric Pioline (29%).
