United States Secures Final Spot in BJK Cup Finals

Only one ticket remained to be claimed between the United States and Slovakia to complete the list of nations qualified for the BJK Cup Finals.

Despite missing their top players, such as Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Madison Keys, and Danielle Collins, the American team managed to finish first in Group C.

After defeating Denmark 3-0 yesterday, the players led by captain Lindsay Davenport delivered another strong performance this Sunday against Slovakia. World No. 86 Hailey Baptiste comfortably defeated Renata Jamrichova (6-3, 6-4), before Bernarda Pera secured a hard-fought victory over Rebecca Sramkova in two tight sets (7-6, 7-5).

A 2-0 win ensures the United States joins Italy, China, Kazakhstan, Spain, Great Britain, Ukraine, and Japan in the finals, which will take place in Shenzhen from September 16 to 21.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.
