This season, several players have emerged in the eyes of the general public and have won their first WTA title. Between January and November, six of them have added their names to the winners' list of a main circuit tournament. Similar to the men on the ATP with the presence of Alexandre Muller, France is represented, and two French players have experienced the joy of winning a trophy.
Boisson and Rakotomanga Rajaonah win their first titles in 2025
Thus, the Roland-Garros surprise Loïs Boisson won the WTA 250 tournament in Hamburg by defeating Anna Bondar in the final, while Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah, despite being very close to elimination in the first round, ultimately triumphed in São Paulo.
Trailing 5-0 in the third set and after saving three match points against Ana Sofia Sanchez in her opening match, she eventually won before going all the way. Four other players are on this list, notably Victoria Mboko.
The Canadian is one of the great stories of the year, having won the WTA 1000 in Montreal in her home country (and later Hong Kong at the end of the year). Like her, Maya Joint also won two titles in the same year (Rabat and Eastbourne). The young Iva Jovic, then aged 17, won the WTA 500 in Guadalajara. Finally, Janice Tjen emerged victorious from the Chennai tournament.
