Beatriz Haddad Maia was up against Laura Siegemund in the United Cup, in a match between Brazil and Germany.

Siegemund won the match 6-3, 1-6, 6-4. In the third set, she won her opponent's service game on an unbelievable double fault by Haddad Maia, provoking silence in the stadium.

Thanks to Alexander Zverev's victory over Thiago Monteiro later in the day, Germany won the match against Brazil.
