Video - Medvedev and Tsitsipas train together in Monaco
Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are both severely lacking in confidence. In fact, both players have recently changed coaches and hope this will be the spark they need to climb back up the rankings.
The Russian parted ways with his iconic coach, Gilles Cervara, after eight years of collaboration. Meanwhile, the Greek, who had started a partnership with Goran Ivanisevic after Roland-Garros, announced the end of his adventure with the Croat after Wimbledon.
Both players, currently ranked 18th and 27th in the ATP rankings respectively, hope to quickly get back on track. While waiting to see what awaits the two former top 3 players during the Asian tour, the rivals—who don’t necessarily have the best relationship—trained together in Monaco in recent days (see video below).
Medvedev is scheduled to compete in the ATP 250 tournament in Hangzhou, which begins in China on September 17. As for Tsitsipas, he is expected to make his return at the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing the following week. The Russian has been seeking a title on the main tour since Rome 2023, while Tsitsipas has only won one trophy this season, which was in Dubai earlier this year.
