Video - Nine years ago today, Murray gave Great Britain the Davis Cup

It was already nine years ago. At the end of an epic Davis Cup campaign, Andy Murray won the competition for the first time in his career, beating Belgium in the final.

Winning all his singles and three doubles alongside his brother Jamie, Murray led Great Britain to a tenth title in 2015.

After eliminating the USA, France and Australia, it was Belgium in the final who bore the brunt of Murray's exceptional form, at the time world no. 2.

He won his Friday singles match against Ruben Bemelmans, before beating Belgian No.1 David Goffin in three sets on Sunday.

Murray's match point will live long in the memory, with a superb defensive lob that gave the British the silver salad bowl (see video below).
