Video - Rybakina receives a bouquet of flowers for her birthday after her victory in Berlin

Elena Rybakina perfectly launched her WTA 500 tournament in Berlin. The Kazakh, ranked 11th in the world, was supposed to face Zheng Qinwen, but the Chinese player withdrew, and thus Ashlyn Krueger appeared against her in the first round.

At the end of a well-controlled match, Rybakina won in two sets (6-3, 7-6) and will face Katerina Siniakova for a place in the quarter-finals. On the court after the match, the Kazakh had a pleasant surprise.

Indeed, the tournament organization gave Rybakina a bouquet of flowers for her birthday (see video below). On this Tuesday, June 17, the 2022 Wimbledon winner is celebrating her 26th birthday and thus gifted herself a nice present by winning in two sets against Krueger, ranked 33rd in the world.
