"We will be ready to fight," assures Volandri despite Sinner and Musetti's withdrawals in the Davis Cup
The captain of the Italian Davis Cup team, Filippo Volandri, remains confident despite the absences of Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti for the Finals in Bologna next week.
Italy, the double defending champion, will host the 2025 Davis Cup Final 8 from November 18 to 23. Filippo Volandri's squad is preparing but will have to manage without its two best players, Sinner and Musetti.
Nevertheless, the Italian team remains of high quality with the call-ups of Flavio Cobolli, Lorenzo Sonego, Matteo Berrettini, Simone Bolelli, and Andrea Vavassori. Volandri remains confident for the Davis Cup Finals, at the end of which the Squadra Azzurra hopes to win a third consecutive title in the competition.
"Even without Sinner and Musetti, our team remains important and very aware of its potential. We will draw on our two consecutive victories. We will be ready to fight, we want to stay on top and play well. We must always move forward step by step.
No Davis Cup team should be underestimated, because as we know, rankings don't count for much. We are eager to get started," assured Volandri, ahead of the quarter-final match against Austria, for Tennis World Italia.
