In the top half, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka stands as the natural favorite.

Dominant on hard courts, the Belarusian could face No. 6 seed Amanda Anisimova in the quarterfinals.

But eyes are also on a potential semifinal clash against Coco Gauff.

The American, seeded No. 4, has a potential quarterfinal first against Jasmine Paolini.

Stacked Bottom Half

While the top half is enticing, the bottom half is equally intriguing.

Two-time California champion Iga Świątek must be wary of a potential quarterfinal against Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No. 8 seed and defending champion.

In this same half are also Elena Rybakina, the No. 3 seed and this year's Australian Open winner, as well as Jessica Pegula, the Dubai champion.

The French Players

On the French side, the presence is more subdued. Only Varvara Gracheva and Elsa Jacquemot are in the main draw.

Diane Parry (111th) and Leolia Jeanjean (123rd) are set to compete this Tuesday in the final round of qualifying.
