World Anti-Doping Agency's appeal in the Sinner case to be heard in April
Jannik Sinner's case will be settled in the spring. Having tested positive twice for the banned substance clostebol at the Indian Wells Masters 1000 last March, the Italian, currently world number 1, knows the date of the hearing which will be managed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The hearing will take place behind closed doors over two days, on April 16 and 17.
As a reminder, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) had appealed against the decision of the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency) to acquit the player, and is requesting a suspension of between one and two years against the two-time Grand Slam winner for negligence in this case.
However, this should have no impact on Jannik Sinner's schedule, as he is scheduled to play up to the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, the final of which will be played just a few days before the hearing.
Pending the CAS's final decision, the first stage of his 2025 season takes him to his first round match at the Australian Open against Nicolas Jarry next Monday.
