Léolia Jeanjean was playing for a spot in the WTA top 100. Having qualified for the semifinals in Quito, the French player, ranked 102nd at the start of the week, was just one step away from rejoining the world's top 100. After her straight-set wins against Vedder, Nahimana, and Erjavec, the No. 3 seed faced Polona Hercog, ranked 672nd in the world and using her protected ranking.

Jeanjean Heavily Defeated in Semifinals in Quito

In this first encounter between the two players, it was the 34-year-old Slovenian who dominated the match. The former world No. 35 won in two quick sets (6-2, 6-2 in 1 hour and 14 minutes) and advanced to the final in the Ecuadorian capital. She will face Luisina Giovannini, who upset Despina Papamichail (6-4, 6-2). As for Jeanjean, she remains at 102nd place and will not contest her fifth final of the season.

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....

It will really be befitting if he attains his 25th Grand Slam crown at the AO for he's truly the GOAT & this will stamp him & endorse his GOAT status without an iota of doubt

Almost as important to Djokovic as Slam #25--and requiring less luck--is beating Federer's total of 103 singles titles. He'll play 250s, and might even surpass Connors's 109.
