The WTA 250 in Auckland will take place from January 5 to 11, 2026. For the occasion, some of the world's best players will be present at the New Zealand tournament.

Already announced by the organization in recent weeks, Elina Svitolina (14th) and Emma Navarro (15th) are expected to be, barring any last-minute changes, the top two seeds. This means that no top 10 player will be participating.

Wild card confirmed for Venus Williams

Among the other players who will participate in the tournament, we find Iva Jovic, Alexandra Eala, and Janice Tjen, who made a breakthrough in 2025. More experienced players like Magda Linette, Donna Vekic, and Renata Zarazua are also expected.

On the French side, Varvara Gracheva, currently ranked 77th in the WTA rankings, is expected to take part in this event. However, the defending champion Clara Tauson is not on the list. It should be noted that three players have received a wild card into the main draw.

As announced in November, Venus Williams, 45, will participate in her first tournament outside the United States since the WTA 1000 in Montreal in 2023. Sloane Stephens, winner of the 2017 US Open, as well as Katie Boulter, who has dropped out of the top 100, have also been awarded wild cards. Hello I'm new

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....
