With eight days to go until the start of the Australian Open, the final preparation tournaments are revealing their draws.
In Adelaide, the draw for the WTA 500 was made this Saturday and unveiled the path awaiting the top seeds.
Pegula and Keys Learn Their Fate
For this 2026 edition, Jessica Pegula will be the No. 1 seed. The American could have a tough start with a potential clash against Paula Badosa. She is also in the same quarter as Clara Tauson, who will begin against Ajla Tomljanovic.
In the bottom half of the draw, Madison Keys will start her title defense against Jelena Ostapenko or a qualifier, before a possible quarterfinal against young Victoria Mboko.
Blockbusters from the First Round
The first round will feature highly enticing matchups on paper, such as the showdown between Mirra Andreeva, the No. 3 seed, and Leylah Fernandez. Daria Kasatkina, the top Australian seed, will have to get past Maria Sakkari, while Emma Navarro will face wildcard Emerson Jones, aged 17.
