Murray opens up about his possible retirement: If I had to end my career, I'd probably prefer to end it at Wimbledon or the Olympics.

Andy Murray is getting closer and closer to retirement. At least, that's what his recent comments suggest. Author of an extremely disappointing 2024 season to date (6 wins, 12 losses), the former world No. 1 is no longer up to it. Ranked 44th in the world at the start of the year, he is now 129th in the world.

So, while the Scot hasn't lost his passion, it seems that his body doesn't really agree with his desire to continue as a professional tennis player. In comments relayed by the BBC, the double Olympic gold medallist agreed to project a possible retirement in the summer: "If I had to end my career this year, I'd probably prefer to end it at Wimbledon or the Olympics. For me, that would probably be more appropriate.

I've had some incredible experiences and memories at Wimbledon, but also being part of the British Olympic teams. Having a chance to play in a fifth edition is a reason to stay motivated and keep playing.

As I said, a lot depends on the results and how I feel physically."
