Denis Shapovalov is a professional Canadian tennis player known for his explosive playing style and one-handed backhand. Born on April 15, 1999, in Tel Aviv, Israel, he moved to Canada at a young age. As a junior, Shapovalov displayed significant promise, winning the 2016 Wimbledon junior title. He turned professional shortly thereafter, quickly making a name for himself on the ATP tour.

One of his early notable achievements came in 2017 when he reached the semifinals of the Rogers Cup, defeating top players such as Rafael Nadal. This performance helped him break into the top 50 rankings, making him the youngest player in the ATP top 100 at that time. He further solidified his career by reaching his first Masters 1000 final at the 2019 Paris Masters.

As of now, Shapovalov has secured multiple ATP titles, and he was pivotal in leading Team Canada to a runner-up finish at the 2019 Davis Cup. His aggressive playing style, marked by big serves and a powerful one-handed backhand, continues to be a hallmark of his career.

His coaching team has included names like Mikhail Youzhny, who helped refine his tactical approach to matches.

In his personal life, Shapovalov has been in a relationship with fellow tennis player Mirjam Bjorklund. He is close to his family; his mother, Tessa Shapovalova, has been a significant influence in his career and even served as his coach in the early years of his career.

Despite his youthful age, Shapovalov has shown immense potential and continues to be a prominent figure in Canadian tennis, inspiring many young players with his dynamic game and passion for the sport.
