Between 2014 to 2015 fed and murray played 5 head to head matches which are also the last time they met in a match. This period was also when fed was in his relatively less accomplished phase... And all 5 were won by FED.... Indoor hard court, out door hard court, grass court.. wherever they met...

Let’s see if Federer is still motivated in this tournament now that he’s secured the number one ranking (for now). He may just be thinking about the sunshine double at the moment.

If we speak abt defending points....

Roger has to defend 2000 points

Nadal to defend 5000 points Till French Open....Let's wait n see

He would love to be taking that No 1 ranking with the title on Sunday.

Plus don't forget he is still chasing 109 titles of Jimmy Connors.

This one puts him at 97.

Hence I think there won't be any shortage of motivation

Its just plain disrespect to think or suggest federer will be less motivated.

Sorry but he ain't Tomic or Kyrgios.

No body has ever given his all in every single match he has played.

And if he has to stay No 1 then he has to keep picking up points.

Hence I see millions of motivations to win this thing all.

I feel Federer can have a shot at Calendar slam as well if Nadal doesn't compete in Roland Garros. Just kidding

I don't think federer goes into a tournament unmotivated.

Agreed he entered this tourney to get world no 1

But will that make him less motivated?

I doubt it
