Paolini: I'm sad, but I have to remind myself that it's still a good day.

Jasmine Paolini had tears in her eyes as she gave her speech after receiving her finalist's trophy at Wimbledon. Beaten by Barbora Krejcikova after a superb battle (6-2, 2-6, 6-4), the Italian was overwhelmed by disappointment. But she did her best to remind herself that her presence on Centre Court this Saturday was first and foremost a dream come true.

Jasmine Paolini: "To see this stadium full and to play here is a dream. I must congratulate Barbora, you played incredibly well. You play such beautiful tennis. Congratulations to you and your team. [...]

These last two months have been incredible for me. I want to thank my team, my family, all the people who are here. They always support me, they always believe in me. Without them, I wouldn't be here. [...]

Today, I'm a bit sad. I'm just trying to get my mind right. I have to remind myself that today is still a good day. I'm in the Wimbledon final. When I was a kid, I used to watch the final on TV. So to be here now, it's crazy. I think I've enjoyed every moment here... It's been a great couple of weeks."
