Dimitrov, a champion who ages well: I want to have all aspects under control.

Grigor Dimitrov is like a fine wine: it improves with age. After several years in which he was unable to repeat his good results, the Bulgarian has rediscovered his best tennis.

After a fine end to 2023, he hasn't slowed down and is enjoying a quality 2024 season, which has even seen him back in the top 10 for several weeks now.

Asked about his approach to tournaments and, in particular, his rest days, the 33-year-old, who beat Monfils in the third round (6-3, 6-4, 6-3), explained: "For the last 5 or 6 years, I didn't stay next to Wimbledon, which is very different for me. Now I just want to make the most of my time off the court for recovery and other things I can improve to be better.

I can't just go around London and expect to be in top form the next day. When you want to be the best and chase the best, you have to maximize your efforts in every possible area. I want to have every aspect under control."

Next step for the Bulgarian: a mouth-watering round-of-16 clash with Daniil Medvedev on Sunday.
