Djokovic confident:

Djokovic confident: "I'm on course to peak at Roland Garros".

Absent from the courts in Madrid, Novak Djokovic is preparing for his return to competition. Highly-anticipated at the Foro Italico, the Serb is hoping to finally set a benchmark tournament. After a very shaky start to the season (no title, no final in 2024) given his pedigree, 'Nole' needs to do better. With the French Open just around the corner, the world No. 1 is hoping to build up his confidence in Rome.

Interviewed in the press conference, Djokovic was reassuring: "I've had plenty of time to rest and train. I've had a good block of training. I arrived here two days ago to have a look around centre court and to train for four or five days before my first match against top players (training set played and lost to Grigor Dimitrov). [...] I think I'm on the right track to reach my peak at Roland-Garros. I hope I can play better here in Rome than I did in Monte Carlo. Obviously, I always want to go far. We'll see."

Asked about the restructuring carried out within his team, the French Open title-holder seemed rather satisfied with the work accomplished: "I'm currently working with the physical trainer I worked with for many years (Gebhard Gritsch). It didn't take me long to adapt to his program and approach. We know each other very well. [...] With Nenad (Zimonjic) too, of course. I'm pleased with the way the last fortnight has gone in terms of training, preparation and anticipation for this tournament, but above all for Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the Olympics. That's the block we're preparing for the most."

Novak purposefully lost all the clay court warm up events to play with his opponents heads and make them think he's beatable. Now he will move towards God mode by the semis

Even the overhead shots work flawlessly.

In the last match Badosa played against Boulter she had a very loud Spanish mob supporting her. It was like football fans, they were relentless and very off-putting for her opponent. She of all people
