Alcaraz : "Every time I play Sinner, I get nervous"
After a few difficult months, Carlos Alcaraz confirmed that he is back to his very best by beating Jannik Sinner to reach the final at Indian Wells (1-6, 6-3, 6-2). In post-match press conference, the World No.2 told us that his matches against the Italian have really something special. Something speacial about the pressure, about the motivation, about the high level of tennis they produce and also about their relationship with the crowd.
Alcaraz : "Every time that I'm gonna face Jannik, I'm gonna get nervous. Because I know that I have to play my 100% if I want to beat him. But it doesn't get me nervous the fact that I'm behind in our head-to-heads. It gives me extra motivation to give my 100%. Try to play my best every match against him, to try to catch him.
And I did it. I think we are at 4-4 right now, if I'm not wrong. So, the next time that I'm gonna face him, I won't think about that (smile).
Every time I play against Jannik, for both of us it's an amazing fight, but for the crowd also that's an amazing match. I think that the crowd enjoy every time that we are playing each other. And the energy that people bring to us is very special."
