Alcaraz ready to take on the challenge:

Alcaraz ready to take on the challenge: "It's a big challenge for me".

Carlos Alcaraz is playing for big stakes at Wimbledon. Last year's winner, he will now attempt to retain his English crown and become one of the few players to have achieved the Roland Garros-Wimbledon double.

His task will be no easy one, especially in view of his first outing on grass, which ended in elimination in the Round of 16 at Queen's against Draper (7-6, 6-3).

Despite all this, the El Palmar prodigy is not losing heart, and has made his intentions clear: "Winning a Grand Slam is obviously difficult, as is the transition from clay to grass, two totally different surfaces, two totally different styles of play. But yes, I'm going to try and put my name on that list (players to have done the Roland Garros - Wimbledon double).

It's a big challenge for me. I've done a lot of work over the last few weeks to feel comfortable and to commit myself 100% to this Wimbledon.

That setback (defeat at Queen's against Draper) showed me that it's difficult to adapt, to move well, to realize how you have to play, because everything can happen on grass.

The day after I lost at Queen's, I started practicing my movements, my shots, so that I'd feel comfortable moving on grass. Now, after some great sessions with great players, to gauge my level, I think I'm ready to launch the tournament."

A man barely walking. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make him better than he was before. Better…Stronger…Faster. Be afraid, be very afraid!

That's real nice, calling lesser opponents "clowns". I wonder if all the players better than him think he's a clown.
