As strong as ever, Swiatek reaches the French Open final!

As strong as ever, Swiatek reaches the French Open final!

It's not exactly a surprise, but it's now official: Iga Swiatek will play in the final of this Roland-Garros 2024. With the exception of her second-round match against Osaka, the Pole has so far achieved a faultless record. More imperious than ever, she largely dominated a Coco Gauff who simply wasn't strong enough (6-2, 6-4 in 1h36).

The American came onto the court with clear offensive intentions, but in the end was unable to do anything. Creating a lot of play and putting a lot of intensity into the ball, she ultimately gave away far too much to hope for anything (27 winners, 39 unforced errors). For her part, the world number 1 perfectly outwitted her opponent. Less percussive than usual, she let the world number 3 dictate play, contenting herself with countering and defending with rare brilliance.

Solid, she took full advantage of her opponent's febrile start to take the lead (6-2). She then raised her game as Gauff began to play much better (only 13 unforced errors). Broken in the second set (3-1), the title-holder reacted like a boss. Putting even more weight into her balls and frequently countering her opponent, particularly on the return, she won 5 of the last 6 games of the match.

Swiatek continues to torment her opponents at Roland-Garros. On Saturday, at just 23 years of age, she will attempt to win a 4th Roland-Garros, her third in a row. Her final opponent is not yet known, as she will face the winner of the second semi-final between Paolini and Andreeva.

TT always get the TB score wrong when it's 7-0. She did not win it to '7' (I.e. not a 9-7 win as shown). Every other time they show it correctly besides the 7-0, when it should have a 0 next to the lo
