Fils out for revenge in Bordeaux: "It's going to be a knife-edge match".

Fils out for revenge in Bordeaux: It's going to be a knife-edge match.

Arthur Fils needs to get back on track. In search of his first Tour final this season, the 19-year-old right-hander is no longer convincing. With the French Open drawing ever closer, the Frenchman came to Bordeaux to build up his confidence.

Without producing any outstanding matches, the Frenchman booked his place in the final on Sunday. Now, in a bid to win his first title of the season, he faces Pedro Martinez (51st), a player who knocked him out in Santiago last March.

Determined to exact his revenge and put his mind at rest ahead of the French Open, Fils is looking forward to it: "Revenge... It's going to be a knife-edge match, a good fight. He's a good Spaniard like we like them, so it's an excellent test for Roland."

Having beaten opponents well within his reach up to now (Van de Zandschulp, Kokkinakis, Barrere), a victory over a player like Martinez, just before Paris, would enable him to relaunch his career at the best of times. Watch this space!
