For Ferrero, the work is far from over:

For Ferrero, the work is far from over: "He hasn't reached his peak".

Carlos Alcaraz has fulfilled one of his childhood dreams: winning the French Open. Having made a magical start to his career so far (3 Grand Slam titles), the Spaniard is determined to continue his ascent and wreak havoc in his path.

The objective is clear: to keep improving. And that's exactly what Juan Carlos Ferrero explained to L'Équipe. While he's not shying away from the challenge, the El Palmar prodigy's coach is already looking to the future: "He needs to improve in a lot of areas. He hasn't reached his peak, far from it. We're trying to find the mental stability he lacks, so that he can maintain a very high level over time.

That will come with experience. We're continuing to work on that. It's only just begun.

Asked about the place of this title in his player's palmares, he explained that Roland-Garros has a very special place in the Spaniard's mind, although each tournament has its own value: "Each tournament has its own particularity. At Wimbledon, we know how difficult it is to win, there's so much history.

As Carlos said, Roland Garros is a tournament he's watched on TV since he was a kid, many Spaniards have won it, so winning here makes it really special."

Asked about their next goals and in particular the fact that 'Carlito' is only one Grand Slam away. Indeed, the world number 2 has now won the US Open, Wimbledon and Roland Garros.
Only the Australian Open still stands in his way. Worse still, he's even looking for his first semi-final in Melbourne.

On this subject, Ferrero, smiling, declared: "Are you already asking for another one? (laughs) You have to keep improving. The Grand Slams are obviously one of our goals. Whatever the tournament, Carlos will be one of the favourites.

He needs to keep his cool so that this status doesn't weigh too heavily on him and he can continue to play his wonderful tennis."
