Humbert gets off lightly at Wimbledon!

Humbert gets off lightly at Wimbledon!

Ugo Humbert gave himself a real scare on Monday. Plunged into a worrying phase of doubt (3 wins in 11 matches before Wimbledon), the French No.1 managed to pull himself together on the London turf.

Facing Alexander Shevchenko, ranked 57th in the world, Humbert needed more than 3 hours of battle to finally win in 5 sets (6-1, 4-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-1).

Very aggressive from the baseline (55 winners, 45 unforced errors), the left-hander can take a deep breath. In the second round, he will face Van de Zandschulp (97th).
