Insolite - Ruud keeps smiling:

Insolite - Ruud keeps smiling: "I almost feel bad damaging them".

Casper Ruud can already be satisfied with his London tournament. Having arrived with no preparatory matches in his baggage, he made it through the first round with authority, equalling his best Wimbledon performance of a second round.

Facing qualifier Alex Bolt, the Norwegian didn't really need to force his talent to win in just over 2 hours and 3 sets (7-6, 6-4, 6-4). Very aggressive, he was able to rely on a lifted forehand that was as effective as ever, despite the surface, to qualify (47 winners).

At the end of his match, the Norwegian seemed very happy, but also allowed himself a humorous comment on the quality of the courts, which in his eyes were more than up to the task: "These courts are so perfect. I almost feel bad about damaging them. I try to be light on my feet so I don't damage them too much."

He will now attempt to reach the third round this Wednesday, against Fabio Fognini.

I will miss you terribly, Andy. All of you. The good , bad, but never ugly. One doesn’t have to be a Brit or Scot to love you more than I. An American . You have my heart, forever.
