As he bids farewell to Madrid, Nadal admits he's touched: "It's very hard"
Rafael Nadal went out with honors. Up against a very impressive Jiri Lehecka, the Spaniard said farewell to a tournament he has won five times. Fighting to the end, the Spaniard was unable to prevent the Czech from winning (7-5, 6-4 in 2h01).
At the tribute ceremony organized by the tournament, the Majorcan admitted he was touched, but also explained that he had no other choice: "It's one of those days when it happens, it's very hard, but life and my body have been sending me signals for a long time. The dream was to finish here on the court. I've been lucky in my life to be able to make my passion my profession, I'm a privileged person."
