Tabilo revels in Mallorca coronation: "It's an unreal feeling".

Alejandro Tabilo is having a particularly impressive 2024. Ranked 125th in the world at the end of the 2023 season, the Chillian has been shining since January.

After winning the title in Aucckland in January (after qualifying), he has enjoyed an impressive clay-court season, winning in Aix-en-Provence, reaching the final in Santiago and, above all, reaching the semi-finals of the Rome tournament (by beating Djokovic and Khachanov back-to-back).

That said, you'd have thought that grass would slow Tabilo's progress, especially after a disappointing French Open where he fell to Bergs in the first round (3-6, 7-6, 6-2, 6-2).

But that's not what happened at all. Logically beaten by Paul at Queen's (6-3, 6-4), he has just enjoyed a prodigious tournament in Majorca.

Playing at a very solid level, he clinched his second ATP title of the season, beating Monfils in the semi-finals (2-6, 6-2, 7-6) and Ofner in Sunday's final (6-3, 6-4). Bluffing, he will be 19th in the world on Monday.

Overjoyed, he was all smiles when he admitted that he was living a daydream: "I can't believe it. It's an unreal feeling. I hope I can keep improving. It's been an incredible year. All the support from all the Chileans back home, from my team, from my girlfriend.

It's been a crazy year. It's great to be playing at this level. I hope I can keep this momentum going, go even higher and keep showing what I'm capable of."
