Kyrgios officially announces his return: "I've missed competition".
This time, it's official. Absent from the tennis courts for over a year and having undergone wrist surgery 10 months ago, Nick Kyrgios, one of the most beloved players among fans of the little yellow ball, is set to make his return to competition.
In a statement relayed by Tennis Majors, the Australian officially announced his imminent return, first in doubles and then in singles: "I'll be playing doubles next month. It will be exciting. I'll probably start there and, if all goes well, I'll move on to singles. Then I'll see how long I can stay on the circuit.
I've missed competing, I've missed hearing the crowd, my fans. Even the people who hate me, I miss them, I miss them all. I'm really looking forward to being back."
