Tsitsipas wins his 3rd Monte-Carlo title!
Stefanos Tsitsipas was not expected to be so successful this year on the clay courts of Monte-Carlo. Having struggled with his tennis and his results for many months, the Greek has bounced back in the best possible way, winning his 3rd title (2021, 2022, 2024) in the Monegasque city on Sunday afternoon.
In the final, Tsitsipas prevailed in 1h40 and two sets (6-1, 6-4) over a generally disappointing Casper Ruud. The Norwegian missed his first set completely, and although he played much better afterwards, he gave in mentally when he had to serve under pressure at 4-5 in the second set.
Conversely, the Greek had the nerves to remain constant and strong in key moments throughout the match. At 25, he wins his 11th ATP title, his 3rd in a Masters 1000 (all in Monte-Carlo). On Monday, he will climb back up to 7th place in the ATP rankings.
