Wilander on the recent doping scandals: "A player shouldn't even go to a restaurant because the food can be contaminated".
The doping cases involving Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek shook the tennis world last season.
Mats Wilander, interviewed by Spanish media outlet Relevo, believes that it is becoming increasingly difficult for players to avoid contamination:
"Now there are more and more people involved. There are trainers or companies who supply you with supplements and vitamins.
And that company may be making substances that aren't legal for professional athletes.
There are many other things players need to protect themselves from. A player shouldn't even go to a restaurant, because there's the possibility that there's something in the food, that it's contaminated.
But you can't protect yourself from everything. Unfortunately, we're in that situation right now, but I don't think there's a doping problem in tennis."
