Fils ready for battle against Fonseca's Brazil: "Physically, I'm at my best".
After dropping out of the 3rd round of the Australian Open against Ugo Humbert, Arthur Fils will play this weekend in the Davis Cup match between France and Brazil.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the French No.2 (ranked 20th in the world) spoke of his state of fitness and level of motivation: "We're all so happy to be playing at home. We're playing at Bercy and Roland-Garros, but not many other tournaments in France.
We're going to spend a good week with the team, and there's a great atmosphere. I'm really looking forward to this Davis Cup weekend with the fans.
Physically, I'm feeling good, I'm firing on all cylinders. I'm in great shape.
For his part, captain Paul-Henri Mathieu preferred to keep the suspense on the choice of players for the singles, against a Brazilian team that will be led by revelation Joao Fonseca :
"We're lucky to have a great group. I have several options in singles and doubles. That's what can make this team strong."
