Alexander Zverev faced Yunchaokete Bu in the first round of the ATP 500 in Rio de Janeiro.
While at first sight it seemed a relatively easy match for the German, the reality was quite different.
The match had started well for Zverev, who broke early in the first set.
He was then broken twice and Bu served for the set, even earning a set point.
Unfortunately for the Chinese player, Zverev was able to make up the deficit and win the tie-break.
The second set was better controlled by the German, which he won 6-4, for a final score of 7-6, 6-4.
He will now face Alexander Shevchenko in the second round, and will need to raise his game to make life easier in a tournament played in extreme conditions (over thirty degrees every day and high humidity).
