Caujolle, Marseille tournament director, on the date change: "Good news".
On Monday, the ATP revealed the calendar for the 2026 season. The ATP 250 Marseille has been moved from February to October.
Tournament director Jean-François Caujolle welcomes the move: "I've been fighting for 32 years to move the event to October," he told La Provence.
"February is too complicated. It's always been complicated by the proximity of the Australian Open and school vacations.
February is often a time when the best players rest. The arrival of Saudi Arabia in February also puts a strain on the European swing. So, for us, October is a very good date.
October has many advantages: for a start, there are no school vacations, which are an exodus. In February, we lose a lot of lodges and customers who have their vacations. It was the right time to move. We made a date for a favorable week.
