Djokovic-Musetti at Roland-Garros voted best Grand Slam match of 2024 by the ATP
The ATP has published a ranking of the five best Grand Slam matches of 2024. First place goes to the clash between Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti in the 3rd round of the French Open, won by the Serbian 7-5, 6-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0.
In second place was the Australian Open final between Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev, won by the Italian 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. This match marked Sinner's first Grand Slam victory.
The French Open semi-final between Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz occupies third place in this ranking. The Spaniard emerged victorious with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Fourth place goes to the Wimbledon 3rd round match between Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe. The Spaniard narrowly beat the American 5-7, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2.
To round off the rankings, it was an American duel at the US Open, between Tiafoe and Ben Shelton, won by Tiafoe 4-6, 7-5, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
We note that these five matches were all played in five sets, and that the winner was at least 2 sets to 1 down in all of them.
