Del Potro to train with Djokovic at US Open!
Juan Martin Del Potro is a special player, much loved by most tennis fans.
His game is of course very impressive, but it is above all his story, so sadly endearing, that brings him such support.
After making his mark on the world of tennis and winning the US Open in 2009 at just 21 years of age, the Argentinian's career went through a series of ups and downs due to a physical problem, notably a recalcitrant wrist.
Beaten by Delbonis in Buenos Aires in 2022 (6-1, 6-3), at the end of a match in which he was in constant physical pain, the 35-year-old announced his retirement, but left the door open for a hypothetical and improbable comeback.
The iconic player of his generation, Del Potro will be back on the Flushing Meadows courts this Wednesday, as he trains alongside defending champion Novak Djokovic.
Enthusiastic, he declared on social networks: "It's going to be very special. Thanks to the US Open and thanks to Djokovic."
