Federer looks back on the clash with the French at the 2014 Davis Cup final
It's been 10 years since Switzerland won the Davis Cup, in an eventful final against France.
Stan Wawrinka chided the French after the victory: "They had put the bottles (of champagne) in the French dressing room, but they quickly put them back in the Swiss dressing room."
Following this statement, tensions arose between the two teams. Wawrinka says: "I found myself with the whole French team around me asking questions, not being happy, with the frustration of defeat.
There was one person who stepped in, and that was Gaël Monfils, who said to leave me alone."
Roger Federer, who was not involved in the altercation, didn't appreciate Wawrinka's treatment: "Everyone was congratulating me on winning the Davis Cup. I think they decided to throw me all the flowers and basically ignore Stan.
And I thought that was pretty rotten. They'd say, "Bravo Rog', you're incredible." And I was like, "Okay, I see where you're going with this. It's all about hurting Stan."
