Musetti holds off Opelka to reach the second round

Lorenzo Musetti didn't give up.

Opposed to a Reily Opelka in his prime (56 winners, 23 aces), the Italian once again demonstrated a maturity that has only recently become apparent.

Remarkably solid in the exchanges (12 unforced errors), he dictated the rules overall, putting a lot of intensity into his shots and finally winning in 4 sets (7-6, 1-6, 6-1, 7-5).

Having qualified for the second round with flying colors, he will now meet Kecmanovic, ranked 54th in the world.
