Zverev and Shelton to contest Laver Cup 2025 in San Francisco

Casting for the next edition of the Laver Cup is gradually taking shape.
Last December, Team Europe confirmed the presence of Carlos Alcaraz at this year's event in San Francisco.
Team World, meanwhile, announced Taylor Fritz, currently world number 4, as its first representative for this season.
Two new players were added on Thursday February 20.
Number 2 in the ATP rankings, Alexander Zverev will be in California from September 19 to 21, joining the team coached by new captain Yannick Noah.
"I love being part of the Laver Cup experience, being teamed up with some of the best players in the world is something special.
I'm also looking forward to being in San Francisco this year. It will be exciting to play in the arena of the Golden State Warriors (basketball franchise playing in the NBA).
It'll be great to play in their arena and take part in the atmosphere," the German assured the competition's official website.
Semi-finalist at the last Australian Open, Ben Shelton will represent Team World.
"Nothing compares to the Laver Cup. It's an electric competition. The format, the excitement, the fans... It's the next level up.
I can't wait to play my third Laver Cup and to play in front of the American public for the first time. I think the atmosphere in San Francisco will be cool.
We're really pumped up and looking forward to a return to Laver Cup success," says Shelton.
