John McEnroe on Zverev's performance in the final: "He looked like a guy who got sick".

John McEnroe on Zverev's performance in the final: He looked like a guy who got sick.

Beaten in three sets by Jannik Sinner in the Australian Open final, Alexander Zverev was no match for the current world No.1.

ESPN consultant John McEnroe was surprised by the German's form during the match:

"I thought he was going to try to wear him down, that he would try to test Sinner, who had cramped up two days ago and wasn't feeling well a few days earlier.

He didn't succeed, but you have to admit that Jannik took him out of the game very early on.

I was really surprised by Zverev's level at the end of the second set and in the third. I don't know what happened to him. He had no energy, he was flat as a pancake.

He looked like a guy who got sick a few days ago. He looked tired when he's only played one set in five days."
