With 430 double faults in 2024, Gauff seeks solutions for his serve

Coco Gauff struggled with her serve in 2024. She made 430 double faults, the most of any player this year. With 71 matches played, that's six double faults per match.

She said she was frustrated with her serve and needed to do something about it: "I really want to get other opinions because, you know, I also think it's sometimes more a question of emotions and mentality.

I think it's also a kind of mental hurdle that I have to overcome when it happens. But I really want to look at other things because I don't want to lose any more games like that."

Rick Macci, Serena Williams' childhood coach, advises Gauff to experiment with her serve during the off-season. He adds that trying different things could help her better understand what's best for her.
