Adrian Mannarino was beaten 7-5, 7-6 by Jordan Thompson in the last 16 of the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000. In particular, he had two consecutive second-set points on his serve. Having chosen to give his compatriot a helping hand by acting as his coach over the last few weeks, Nicolas Mahut reflected on the defeat.
Mahut: "He can have a lot of regrets. He's had a complicated season with a lot of injuries. He arrived with little preparation and was a little short of gas.
Unfortunately, he let frustration get the better of him when he had a great opportunity to reach the quarter-finals. I'd say he was badly advised (by Mahut himself).
