Jannik Sinner won his third and final match of the group phase, this time against Daniil Medvedev in two sets (6-3, 6-4).
For the fifth time in six matches this season, the world No.1 emerged victorious from his duel with Medvedev. The Italian dominated, breaking at the right moment in each set, 4-3 in the first and 4-4 in the second.
Eliminated from the Masters after losing the first set, Medvedev then had nothing left to play for but the ATP points and prize money awarded to the winner.
Sinner finishes the group phase unbeaten, having lost no sets. He'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out who his semi-final opponent will be.
The other top players have his game pegged. He's too predictable.
