Video - Ugo Carabelli's unusual celebration on the Challenger circuit
Although the ATP tournament season is over, players outside the Top 100 continue to play on the secondary circuit.
Such is the case of Camilo Ugo Carabelli, ranked 105th in the world, who is at the Temuco Challenger (Chile) this week trying to secure a place in the main draw of the Australian Open.
Facing Tomas Barrios Vera in the quarter-finals on Friday, the Argentine had to save a match point in the third set before winning the tie-break after 2 hours 40 minutes (2-6, 6-2, 7-6).
A success he celebrated by taking off his T-shirt before shaking hands with his opponent (see video below).
And the reason for this special celebration is obvious: Ugo Carabelli could, if he wins tomorrow's semi-final against Renzo Olivo, virtually validate his ticket for the Australian Open, as he is currently ranked 103rd in the ATP rankings.
