Murray: "I thought it was the end".

Murray: I thought it was the end.

Andy Murray is enjoying his last thrill before retiring from the world of professional tennis.

Indeed, at the Paris Olympics, the Scot is playing his very last career round. Having missed out on singles, all his hopes lie in the doubles pairing he forms with Dan Evans.

However, the adventure almost ended in the first round for the British pair.

Faced with Japan's Daniel and Nishikori, they saved 5 match points in a row before winning (2-6, 7-6, 11-9).

When asked about this incredible scenario, which enabled him to prolong his career a little longer, Murray declared: "I thought it was the end. Dan made some good returns. I made some good serves at 9-6 to get us to 9-8. It was incredible.

I've never played a doubles match like that, saving so many match points in a row. It's a special place to do it, obviously."
