Andy Murray tries his hand at theater and launches his show!
Andy Murray is definitely full of surprises. The former world No.1, retired from the tennis courts since the Paris Olympics last August, is about to embark on a completely unexpected new challenge. He will be taking to the stage for a show, dubbed Centre Stage, retracing his career as a professional tennis player.
Four dates are already scheduled for June 2025 in Glasgow (June 18), Edinburgh (June 19), central London (Eventim Apollo, June 21) and Wimbledon (New Wimbledon Theatre, June 29, the day before the tournament begins). On stage, the Scot will be joined by BBC journalist Andrew Cotter to reveal new anecdotes and juicy details from his career.
Andy Murray: "After I retired this summer, I wanted to try something different. I don't think any tennis player had done anything like it before, so I felt it was a big challenge for me.
It's been a long time since I set foot on a tennis court, so I hope my fans will enjoy seeing me in this new setting. [...]
I'm taking to a different stage this summer. Come and see me on my first ever theatre tour, with Andrew Cotter, in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Hammersmith and Wimbledon. Tickets go on sale this Thursday at AndyMurray.com."
