Berrettini says it all: "This year has made me aware of many things".
Matteo Berrettini had a rather unusual 2024 season. Back from injury, the Italian colossus had a rollercoaster year, with his body complicating his task on several occasions. Despite this, he enjoyed several moments of glory, winning three ATP titles (Marrakech, Gstaad, Kitzbuhel) and playing a major role in Italy's Davis Cup triumph.
In comments relayed by our colleagues at Ubitennis, Berrettini seems to have rediscovered his motivation and will to win. He warned his rivals that he has big ambitions for 2025: "Now I'm resting for a week and I've got a very tight schedule ahead of me, but this year has made me realize a lot of things.
We're lucky enough to play with and against the best player in the world, which always motivates us. The aim is to get as close to him as possible. I'm capable of doing that."
