Cahill confirms his retirement: Jannik Sinner is in very good hands.

One of the news items of this Australian Open 2025 is Darren Cahill's retirement at the end of the 2025 season. The Australian, coach of Jannik Sinner, confirmed his decision in recent hours to Eurosport.

As a reminder, the world number 1 dropped a bombshell on the subject after his second-round victory over Australian wild card Tristan Schoolkate.

"For a coach and his player to have a collaboration that works, it takes around three, four or even five years of working together.

I'm going to stop coaching, but Jannik (Sinner) is in very good hands with Simone (Vagnozzi), who is doing an excellent job.

They'll be working together over the next few years, and I'm sure that their player-coach relationship will evolve positively over the coming seasons so that they both continue to enjoy a great deal of success," explained the 59-year-old.

Too bad Alcaraz doesn't hire Cahill for a short consulting gig to help him with his game.
